Training
At Gordon Ramsay restaurants, we believe in recruiting the best people, equipping them with the skills to shine, the opportunities to develop, and the direction to succeed.
It is our employees that make us the best at what we do.
So as an employee, we invest in your development, to ensure that you are the best that you can be. We look for your potential, and believe in investing in the development of all staff in order to grow talent within the company and move the business forward.
As a global, high profile, and world class restaurant business, we can provide unrivalled development opportunities to nurture your ambition. We are committed to encouraging and developing our colleagues and so we offer an exciting learning environment in our dedicated skills centre and a range of formal learning opportunities:
- When you come on board, we provide you with a company induction which gives you the opportunity to understand the company, your role and the restaurants
- Internal specialists are encouraged to share their skills and knowledge by running development sessions, such as butchery, service etiquette, meat curing, wine tasting etc
- We work with external partners, such as the Wine and Spirit Education Trust, Tante Marie School of Cookery and La Fromagerie to provide expert learning events
- Supplier visits are encouraged to develop your understanding and knowledge of produce. Recent trips include Billingsgate Fish Market, a Winery and Meantime Brewery
- Statutory Health & Safety and Food Hygiene training courses are run in-house and ensure every team member has the skills and knowledge to work safely
- We engage external specialists to share their skills and knowledge. Most recently, this has included a presentation on Michelin, a hands-on bakery demonstration, champagne tasting, coffee training, floristry and chocolate making.
- All employees are supported through on-the-job development, providing the opportunity to work with internationally recognised, inspiring people who are at the top of their field
