Nathan Johnson
March 2008 saw the launching of Gordon Ramsay Plane Food in the newly built Terminal 5, asserting to serve only the finest freshly prepared food to all its travelling diners. Following the influence and leadership of Stuart Gillies, Nathan Johnson undertook an exciting opportunity and reached the milestone in his career becoming the Head Chef of this modern restaurant at Heathrow, one of the world’s busiest international airports.
His unique and innovative approach to airport dining has been developed by his various roles observing and performing alongside acclaimed chef Angela Hartnett and the greatly admired Stuart Gillies. In addition, Nathan spent significant time in Dubai underneath the direction of Jason Atherton, who was the first chef to complete a stage at Spain’s famous El Bulli restaurant.
Gordon Ramsay Plane Food is open from 5.30am to 10pm, during this time the signature menu can be enjoyed whilst admiring great views into the open plan kitchen and through the magnificent floor to ceiling windows give outstanding views of the runways, aircraft, countryside and even Windsor Castle and Wembley Stadium.
The menu developed by Nathan and Stuart Gillies, offers a select food concept including breakfast, a la carte and an exclusive picnic, accommodating the diverse requirements of the many travellers visiting the light, modern and spacious surroundings.
During Nathan’s career, he has also had considerable involvement with the television programmes The f-word and Ramsay’s kitchen nightmares.
