Mark Askew Mark Askew

Yorkshire born Mark Askew moved to London in 1989 taking on a role as Commis Chef at the Savoy Grill. After gaining experience in other established London restaurants with influential chefs such as Pier Koffman and Michael Bourdin Mark joined Gordon in the kitchen at Aubergine as Chef de Partie and was soon promoted to Sous Chef.

After a stint in France working at Maison de Bricourt and Michel Bras, Mark returned to the UK and back to Aubergine as Head Chef. With his consistent work ethic, he soon took his fine skills to work alongside Gordon at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay on Royal Hospital Road, which opened in 1998. The recognition of their hard work and determination was rewarded within four years of the restaurant being in service, with the honour of receiving its 3rd Michelin Star.

Mark has overseen Gordon’s restaurants as Executive Head Chef of Gordon Ramsay Holdings since 2001 and his innovative approach to fine dining has created a signature experience with captivating menu selections.
