Stuart Gillies
Stuart Gillies' early career saw him working in the kitchens of Riche restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden for two years followed by a year in Rome at The Lord Byron Hotel. He returned to London to work at the renowned Le Caprice where he honed his skills further. He moved stateside in 1995, spending two years at Daniel's in New York under the direction of the legendary Daniel Boulud.
Stuart joined Gordon Ramsay Holdings in 2002 and his innate talent and passion were put to great use working as Head Chef alongside Angela Hartnett at the Michelin-starred The Connaught for a year.
In May 2003, Gordon Ramsay and Stuart unveiled Boxwood Café at the Berkeley Hotel. Gordon was captured by Stuart's boundless energy and drive and immediately offered Stuart the reins to this innovative restaurant concept.
In 2008 Stuart was appointed Chef Patron of the exciting new restaurant Gordon Ramsay Plane Food at Heathrow Terminal 5. This modern restaurant offers an extensive choice of dining options to perfectly suit every traveller's needs.
2010 has been a busy year for Stuart, most notably taking on the role as Chef Director of The Savoy Grill, where he will work alongside the Head Chef Andy Cook.
Stuart has featured in numerous television series including GMTV, Masterchef
Goes Large and Saturday Kitchen. He was also chosen to compete in the second series of the hit show
Great British Menu which aired in 2009. Stuart's recipes have appeared widely in magazines and
newspapers and he now has a regular column in Men's Health magazine. He lives in South East London
with his wife and three young sons.
