James Partridge
James started his career in hotel management at the Lygon Arms hotel in the Cotswolds, where, after a work placement, he became the Assistant Manager from 1992 to 1995.
For the next three years he worked as the Conference and Banqueting Manager, overseeing all events in the hotel.
James then moved to London in 1998 to start work as a Deputy Banqueting Manager at Claridge’s where he looked after 10 permanent and 100 temporary staff as well as dealing with all clients.
He then moved to front of house as the Special Services and Groups Manager until November 2001 when he became the Front of House Manager. This incorporated the previous role as well as managing the reception and in house reservations team which totalled 25 people.
A year and a half later, James decided to develop the sales part of his job and worked in the Savoy Head Office as their Senior Sales Manager. He was responsible for all banqueting and private events for the group and was involved in the development of 35 banqueting rooms.
In October 2007 James was appointed General Manager at York & Albany.
